Diana our Creative Trainer has really taken into account your ever growing pile of scraps with this sketch – love those strips in the back ground of this sketch. Dig into your scraps and show us how you can Workout this sketch! Check out all the examples at ScrapFIT.

Here is my layout for this challenge:

Here is Diana's sketch, which you can see I stayed fairly true to (for once!). I just love the big strips on the sketch, which I turned into banners simply by snipping triangles into the ends.

We have a great LowCal Kit up for grabs on this workout from Paper Issues!  Head on over to Paper Issues if you want to snag one before they are gone!

And there is {still} another piece of unfinished business - my $20 gift voucher up for grabs at Paper Issues has still not been claimed, so this time the winner is:

What they see - PaperHaus sketch

I love the December sketch from PaperHaus. For something different I scrapped a photo of me - taken by Kiara.

Can't get enough of stamping on my layouts lately, and although I shifted the banner a bit from the original sketch, I think  you can still see the basis there!

Santa's naughty or nice list...

The new challenge at Challenge Me Happy is a scraplift. Here is my take, which due to my bigger photo is stretched out a bit more than the original. I love these photos of Alexa - isn't she just the sweetest?!?  I have inked up my stamps again for this one, can't get enough of 'em at the moment! The "I've been good[ish]" is just made for Alexa, I think!

Christmas in non-traditional colours

I hope my layout for December Show us your Stuff challenge is non traditional enough...I think the blue makes it so. I just love this pic of Santa arriving at our work kids Christmas party a couple of years ago - only in Australia!

I made the arrow embellishments by stamping and cutting out the images. Again, I hope this counts!! I am loving these Australian Christmas stamps called Christmas time is beaut available from Kellie Winnell (Give a Girl A ...). I think these ones were so popular they have been sold out, but she is going to be running a stamp by subscription soon so check it out. I was lucky enough to win this set, and they are such high quality clear stamps, and this set is my most used set at the moment by far!

November Scrap The Girls

The challenge for November at Scrap The Girls is a colour challenge to use teal, orange and white. I am not sure how well the colours have come up here, but here is my layout:

For a colour combination I normally wouldn't choose - I seem to have been using a lot of this type of combo lately, probably because it has been included in a few of my latest kits. Thanks for looking!

Blog hop winner...

We want to thank everyone who played along with the ScrapFIT Colour Inspiration Blog Hop this past weekend.  It was a lot of fun for us to plan, and we hope you enjoyed hopping along and visiting everyone's blogs.  The inspiration was wonderful, and hopefully you were inspired to scrap something beautiful :)Our randomly chosen winner for getting the Blog Hop quote correct is......  ALISON DAY!  Lots of scrappy goodness is coming your way!!By the way, the correct quote from the Hop was "A picture is worth a thousand words, but a scrapbook page is worth a million memories."Thank you again, ladies, for playing along!!  You have until November 30th to upload your cards.

You also have until November 30th to join my very own giveaway - simply become a follower to be in the draw to win a $20 voucher to Paper Issues! Easy!

Challenge ME happy with hexagons

I found a new (to me) challenge site at Challenge Me Happy and their latest sketch is the basis for this layout:

I had these little chippie hexagons in my stash from my Pink Paislee prize win from a while ago, and they were just perfect for this sketch.

Thankful in November

The November challenge at Once Upon A Sketch is quite an easy challenge - with no special criteria other than to follow the sketch and add journalling. You can find the challenge and examples here.

I have included some journalling on the back of the stamped tag, which is about how I like to wear my name pendant at times when I need reminding about what is important in life and to not worry about little things.

Here is my layout:

I am also linking this up with Use It Tuesday Challenge # 43 which is to Be Thankful. This is a great challenge site encouraging everyone to use up their stash (what a novel idea!!), on this layout I have used up some of the little word stickers to the left of the photo.

White space....or maybe rainbow space?

I haven't participated in the challenges at Kraft It Up for some time now, but the November challenge seemed right up my alley - create a layout on Kraft with loads of white space. However, as seems to happen, I am not sure what really happened to my usual clean, straight, lots of white space type of layout.

I hope there is still enough space here to qualify, if not - I had fun anyway!

Colourful enough for you?

Fly the flag!

It is time for another challenge at ScrapFIT, this time it is:

#77- High Flying Flag

Let your flag wave high with this Workout!  We love the new little hand made flags that are popping up all over!  Show us a hand made flag on a layout or card.
Be creative with your flag – put your title on it, make it pop and be unique!

Here is my layout:

The photo here is not great, but I love the view we had from the top! I also love the sunburst technique, a great way to showcase some beautiful papers. And handmade flags are quite cool too, this is the first time I have done this and I am liking it. I'm also liking my stamps from Ali Edwards, too, makes it easy to colour coordinate some accents for your layout.

Make sure you come play along with us and link up your layout or card!  You could be the winner of the October FITkit, Hundred Acre Woods, provided by Paper Issues!!

Beach day is every day!

And it sure is for Kiara - she just loves everything about the the beach.

This layout is based on a sketch from Scraptastic using the fantastic September kit from them. So yummy and summery - exactly what I need today on this freezing spring day.

10 things

I completed this layout based on the sketch at Sketches with a Twist and using the gorgeous kit from Scraptastic.

The twist is to use embossing on your layout, my butterflies have been embossed.

Our picnic adventure

Kiara says the other weekend "Mum, let's surprise Lex this afternoon, pack a picnic and go on an adventure!" and who could refuse?!? Being the great secret keeper that she is, she proceeded to tell Alexa, and they both packed up a picnic basket and off we went - to our adventure place: walking along the creek bed at "Old Orana".

Of course what better opportunity to snap a few shots of them, and when my new kit arrived from Scraptastic I knew it would be perfect.

Dance like no one is watching: Scrapping a BIG photo

I printed this photo of Alexa out a while ago, just onto cardstock. It has been sitting there, just waiting to be scrapped so I just stuck her down onto a beautiful piece of patterened paper with that gorgeous border (that has also been sitting there for quite some time so I don't know what brand it is!) and simply used a strip of Carta Bella border paper and an older border sticker from Basic Grey.

I love how on such a big photo like this one you can pop your title right on there, a spot of journalling and it is done!

I am entering this one into the September Scrap The Girls challenge which is to use action or sports pictures, well, I think she is in "action" twirling around in the bubbles.

Gorgeous Nostalgia by My Mind's Eye

I just love the quality of the papers from My Mind's Eye, and the Nostalgia Kit that is available right now in the Mad About Scrappin' for just $13 sure is a great value buy.

So far I have created two layouts and a card, and there is still plenty leftover for more.

Isn't this lace just divine? It was perfect for embellishing the outer edge of my circle and with the wire enforcement it is easy to manoeuvre. The other thing I love about this one is those doilies, I simply cut them in half and used them as a scallop border underneath the photo mat. All I have added to this kit is the alphas.
Oh, nearly forgot to mention the pearls - just in a string so you can swirl them wherever you want! I love this idea, I just put my glue down wherever I wanted it to go and sat the pearls on top - too easy. I called this layout "A Workday Reminder" as this is the photo I have as my screensaver at work.

My second layout using this fantastic kit was inspired by the gorgeous quilt that Ma-ma made for Kiara for Christmas last year, all handpieced hexagons. My hexagons are handpieced, too, but somehow I think it took me a bit less time! I love all the beautiful colours in this range of papers, and using them like this showcases them all, and manages to co-ordinate nicely with the colours in Kiara's quilt, too.

And some hidden journalling on a tag tucked behind the photo.

Finally I whipped up a quick card with the leftover scraps on my desk.

This really is a fantastic kit, so pop over to Mad now to get yours before they are all gone!
